Renaissance heritage, renewed through timeless and contemporary design

Set in Borgo Cavour, within the historic core of Treviso, the project concerns the complete restoration of a noble residence built in the first half of the sixteenth century for the Priuli family and later converted into a boarding college. The palazzo now houses the headquarters of a leading European private equity firm, bringing renewed life to one of the city’s architectural treasures. The operation was managed throughout the approval and delivery phases, coordinating the design team, contractors, restorers and the competent heritage authorities. The architectural project was entrusted to Sir David Chipperfield, recipient of the 2023 Pritzker Architecture Prize, and approved by the Venice Superintendency for Architectural Heritage. Completed in under three years, the restoration works revealed the Priuli coat of arms frescoed within the portico, a Sansovino-style painted beam in the portego and nineteenth-century ceilings of rare grace. The only contemporary gesture on the elevation lies in the recalibrated upper-floor openings, while bespoke furnishings and lighting complete a workplace of truly exceptional architectural standing.
